Casa Jimmy Project Crescer

Project Crescer started on 1 November 2011 for 40 children and teenagers, aged 10 – 17 years old who attend the state run schools nearby in Santa Teresa neighborhood. The project helps some of the most disadvantaged teenagers in Brazil. Our goal is to complement and expand upon the education that they are receiving at school, so that they are given every opportunity to fulfill their potential.

Since Covid we run Project Academy at Casa Jimmy which includes school homework time and workshops in English, IT, music, recreational sports, maths, reading in Portuguese as well as Citizenship and incoming generating skills. They are provided with snacks, tea break and soup at 5:40pm before going home. On Saturdays, lunch at midday. The project totals up to 36 hours per week.

In the beginning project received initial support for the project from Chevron and Wilson sons who donated 10 computers. 12 guitars were donated by Giannini Guitars.

We remain, however, entirely dependent on the generosity of our supporters to continue and develop the project, so please tell as many people as you can about our work!

Get Involved

Task Brasil, being a small charity, depends greatly on the help of individuals like yourself, companies, in the US, UK and wherever you are in the world.

Getting involved in our work will allow you to learn more about the situation, develop new skills and make a real difference to the lives of the children living on the streets.
